CCW x Studio Kōbō Collaborations

Case studies from the workbench — identity systems, creative direction, game design and copy, built for people who value clarity and impact over decoration.

Case Study 01

Llama Leap

Studio Kōbō x CCW Technology Consulting

  • Game Design
  • Character Design
  • Creative Direction
  • Mobile UI/UX
Brief
Build a mobile infinite runner that carries authentic Andean cultural weight without slipping into souvenir-shop pastiche or generic app-store UI.
Approach
We locked a Superflat arcade language — heavy ink-stroke borders, a hyper-vibrant Chicha neon palette, and a strict 9:16 viewport — then drew every character state, collectible and obstacle from a single structural logic. CCW Technology Consulting engineered the game logic, full-stack platform and hosting.
Outcome
  • Complete character and HUD asset system
  • Shipped web platform at playllamaleap.com
  • Reusable Superflat design language

Nazca Level System

Llama Leap — Level & Environment Design

  • Environment Design
  • Systems Design
  • Art Direction
Brief
Extend the runner beyond a single biome without breaking the readability that makes split-second dodging fair.
Approach
Desert fissures, geoglyph line work and a day-to-night variant scheme were built as swappable layers on the same collision grid, so new levels ship as art passes rather than engineering rewrites.
Outcome
  • Layered environment kit across three levels
  • Contrast-tested obstacle silhouettes
  • Art pipeline decoupled from game logic

Case Study 03

Customization Manifest

Llama Leap — Brand & Asset Systems

  • Brand Systems
  • Asset Manifests
  • Documentation
Brief
Give a distributed team one source of truth for every character variant, power-up and obstacle in the product.
Approach
We produced blueprint-style expansion sheets: chullo hat colorways, llama body variants, collectible states and power-up iconography, each annotated so engineering could implement without a single design clarification call.
Outcome
  • Blueprint manifests v1.0 – v1.2
  • Zero-ambiguity handoff to engineering
  • Scalable variant naming system

What Clients Say

Studio Kōbō stripped our concept down to the parts that actually mattered, then gave it a visual language sharp enough to build an entire product around. The handoff was the cleanest we have received.
